How to move in Sao Paulo?

You can move around the city by bus, although it is not recommended due to the high traffic in the city and due to safety issues. However, if you want to travel by this means, you must purchase the ticket at SPTrans points of sale, certain stores, at lottery houses or pay directly on the bus. The price is around 3 Reais ($ 0.50 USD) and is used to travel 4 times for a period of 3 hours.

You can also get around by taxi, but it is also a somewhat slow option due to city traffic. The price depends on the distance you want to travel and a fixed amount is also charged when you get on. On the other hand, you can use Uber that works in the same way and its prices vary according to distance, traffic, among others.

For the aforementioned reasons, the most recommended and best way to get around is the subway. It has 5 lines: Line 1 (blue), Line 2 (green), Line 3 (red), Line 4 (yellow) and Line 5 (purple) and can be used from 4:40 am to midnight, although depending on the station these hours may change. The cost of transportation is around 3 reais. The method of payment and price is the same as that of the bus.
